EverQuest II?
I bought the game yesterday, and after talking with Avari decided to take it back due to various reasons, namely the suicides related to it.
What are your thoughts on this game? Do you think it deserves the titles "EverCrack" and "NeverRest"?
Regardless, I won't purchase the game again, but I'd be most interested in hearing your thoughts.

Bad idea. Never believe everything you hear. You shouldve bought a month, played it and seen if you liked it.

Good god no, if you're easily addicted to stuff that's fun then you'll be stuck in EQ2 forever. Same thing with FFXI. Avoid MMOs at all costs if you think you'd be affected by them..
Play online hexic!! That game is hella fun.

I loved it, I still own it, no longer pay or play, totally GW. But it's very great. I did everything I could do in the game, and I got bored of it, I took what I believe I needed from the game and moved on.
Very cool game, Evil city is less laggy by the way ^_^ Inquisitors rock, the quest system is revamped from one, but they lack storyline really. Orcish invasion? Done before!
Other then that, it's a very good game, sometime in the future, I might sell it or get back into it. So many unique features like levelling with the mentoring system, guild fun, zone exploring, meeting new friendly people, and a new everquest world with all old names
as for suicides...how? I never heard anything
If dumb people die due to staying on it, it's their own damn fault :P

Well any MMORPG, even Guild Wars, specifically WoW, can be addicting, its all self control.
I don't know about Everquest, but i'm pretty sure its the same way with all MMORPG's...just have some self-control and don't go balistic if something bad happens to you in these games...there was some guy who murdered another player cause he bought the staff the guy had for too cheap...don't know what game that was, but...there you go....
O, and look at the post above me. Right on Avari....^^^^^^^

Is that really true? They acually put a message up before you play about not forgetting your life, or are you just joking?
I never played Everquest, so I have no idea.

The same message is present in FFXI. It's their way of clearing their conciences for all the crap that happens over their servers

And again, I hate to re-iterate it, that message is for those with no self control.

I don't think it's the game that causes people to be addicted, but the interaction with other people.

Then what if one of the lone wolves dies over the server from lack of self-control? It wasn't interaction, or lack thereof..it was again, self-control.
Play it, if you can afford the monthly. It's a great game like I stated.

My self-control extends further then forums/MMO's, I assure you. control doesn't mean leaving the seat, it means knowing what is right/wrong and when to stop.
IE: when a guy dies in an internet CAFE due to lack of DRINK and FOOD...or even falls asleep due to sleep deprivation. That is non-self control :P
